Il Fontanone

This commemorates the reconnection of the ancient Roman aquaducts, which marked the revival of Rome in the Renaissance. The fountain, built at the command of Paul V (almost visible in the inscription at the top) is near the Ponte Sisto on the Trastevere side of the bridge.
